PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide optical frequency multiplexing communications equipment and method which adjust the length of an optical transmission line and suppress the generation of four light wave mixed light. SOLUTION: In this optical frequency multiplexing communication equipment, which has a optical frequency multiplexing transmitting station 61 generating an optical frequency multiplex signal, an optical transmission line 41 with a length L collectively transmitting multiplex signals and an optical frequency multiplexing receiving station 62 selecting and receiving a desired optical frequency from the multiplex signals, the length L of the line 41 is set so that a full intensity ratio R can be equal to or less than R0, when the ratio (full intensity ratio) of the total intensity amount of four light wave mixed light generating in the optical frequency of an optical channel to signal light intensity is defined as R and a full intensity ratio in which required communication quality is met minimally is defined as R0, at the optical frequency multiplex receiving station end of the line 41. |
