PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a frequency adjusting method for a piezoelectric resonator capable of continuously and highly accurately adjusting the resonance frequency. SOLUTION: Concerning the frequency adjusting method for a piezoelectric resonator 1 utilizing a thickness-shear mode while arranging first and second resonance electrodes 3 and 4 so as to be oppose on the front and the back through a piezoelectric plate 2 in the centers of first and second main sides 2a and 2b of the piezoelectric plate 2, by forming slopes 2g and 2h by grinding a side edge formed from the first main side 2a and first and second sides 2c and 2d, frequency adjustment is performed so as to increase the resonance frequency.
