PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a remote control transmitter and an image display device with excellent convenience and a high commercial value. SOLUTION: In the case of instructing reproduction of a recorded magnetic tape set to a video device 2, a reproduction processing system of the video device 2 reproduces the magnetic tape, the reproduced image signal is outputted to a monitor screen of an external television receiver 24 as required and the image signal subject to the similar signal conversion processing is outputted from a transmission reception section 7. A remote control transmitter 3 receives a signal (infrared ray signal) outputted from a transmission reception section 4 of the main body of the video device 2 at its transmission reception section (light receiving section) 7, applies photoelectric conversion to the received signal, a demodulation circuit demodulates the received signal into an RGB signal and gives the signal to an image display section 5 (an organic EL display device 11) to allow the image display section 5 to display a reproduced image.
