The invention relates to a motor vehicle comprising an internal combustion engine with catalytic exhaust gas control by means of a pre-catalyst that is inserted behind an exhaust manifold and a main catalyst, especially an NOx storage catalyst, that is arranged in the exhaust gas flow and behind the pre-catalyst. The catalytic exhaust gas control over an enlarged engine operation area can be optimised by arranging an air conveying shaft (1) in the motor vehicle. Said shaft is provided with an inlet (2) in the front area of the motor vehicle. The end of said shaft is directed towards the exhaust manifold (9) and/or an exhaust gas cooling device. The air conveying shaft is provided with a controllable switch flap (3, 4) in the area of the inlet (2).
