PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cup type grinding wheel capable of stably rotating a work without causing any unbalance in weight, and of uniformly grinding the work with high accuracy without one-siding the center part of the work. SOLUTION: A grinding wheel 13 is so mounted to the end face of a base trestle 12 as to be formed into an annular shape. Four approaching portions 13a to be positioned while being approached to the center side of the base trestle 12 and at least four separated portions 13b to be positioned while being separated from the center of the base trestle 12, are mutually provided for the grinding wheel 13. Those approaching parts 13a and separated parts 13b are so constituted as to be disposed in the form of a point symmetry while the center of the base trestle is being held in between.
