In the method proposed, caesium aluminium alum is reacted with an amount of calcium hydroxide which is equimolar with the aluminium and with an amount of a calcium salt readily soluble in water whic h is equimolar with the caesium in a single flask in the presence of water and the aluminium hydroxide and calcium sulphate which pre cipitate out are separated off by filtration or centrifu gation
