PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control method for a bathtub equipped both with an air bubble generation equipment and a bath water circulation and purification equipment to prevent the propagation of germs in the bath water in the air bubble generation equipment. SOLUTION: In a bathtub 11 equipped both with an air bubble generation equipment 21 and a bath water circulation and purification equipment 11, the down time of the air bubble generation equipment 21 is monitored to operate automatically in such way that it will not halt longer than a certain time, thereby circulating the water retained in the air bubble generation equipment at least at a certain interval to purify it by the bath water circulation and purification equipment 11. In addition a valve 28 is disposed on an air-intake tube 27 and it is closed during the automatic operation.
