PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processor capable of obtaining a reference value for automatic density adjustment always by one pre-scanning simultaneously with an ACS judgment. SOLUTION: An ACS judgment part 303 judges image data RGB0 outputted from a scanner on the bass of image data converted by a scanner signal conversion part 302 in accordance with a processing mode, a reference value calculation part 308 calculates a 1st reference value for density adjustment corresponding to a color original on the basis of a histogram prepared for image data CMY1 obtained from a color transformation table 304 by a histogram preparation part 307, a reference value conversion part 310 converts the 1st reference value into a 2nd reference value for density adjustment corresponding to a monochromatic original by using a CMY-K transformation table prepared by a transformation table preparation part 309 when ACS judgment result is the monochromatic original, and a density adjustment part 313 adjusts density of output image data by using the 1st reference value in the case of the color original or using the 2nd reference value in the case of the monochromatic original.
