The method includes, at the interior of the vehicle, modifying the quantity, e.g. air temperature and/or air humidity, of the initially present state, and next, calculating, by at least an influencing quantity, and adapting the required conditions to the interior of the passenger compartment by a adaptation mechanism. More specifically, the interior space (50) of the vehicle is heated or cooled to a determined temperature, and then the temperature is varied in an optimal manner favourable to the vehicle occupants, e.g. by introducing heated air by the feet of the occupants, and extracting air at the vehicle ceiling, or introducing cold air at the ceiling and extracting air from the floor of the vehicle. Temperature sensors (25,25',35,35'45,45') at various locations are connected to a ECU (60) to achieve optimal temperature which ensures comfort to the occupants.
