PURPOSE: A method for setting up and operating a manner mode is provided to set up a duration of the manner mode by a key-pressed time of a specific key, so that a general function mode can be automatically converted while performing the manner mode and a performance time of the manner mode can be regulated. CONSTITUTION: A controller(100) checks whether a key for setting up a manner mode is inputted from a key input unit(130). If inputted, the controller(100) checks whether a key for setting up time is inputted. If not the time setup key is not inputted, an operation of a general manner mode is performed. If the time setup key is inputted, the controller(100) sets up a duration time of the manner mode according to key data inputted through the key input unit(130). The duration time is displayed through a display unit(140) for the selection of a user. An alarm by an incoming and alarm operation is set up to an oscillation or a lamp. The controller(100) checks whether the set duration time of the manner mode exceeds. If so, the controller(100) ends the manner mode and returns to a general function mode. Otherwise, the controller(100) checks whether a release key is inputted. If the release key is not inputted, the step whether the duration time exceeds is returned. And if the release key is inputted, the controller(100) ends the manner mode and returns to the general function mode.
