Unsatd. elastomeric AB block copolymer based on 45-85% buta-1,3-diene, 5-40% isoprene and up to 30% styrene consists of 40-80% block A contg. butadiene units with 8-60% evenly distributed vinyl gps. and 60-20% block B contg. 0-60% buta-1,3-diene, at least 10% isoprene and up to 45% styrene, in which the diene units have a vinyl content of 75-90%. In block A, up to 25% of the buta-1,4-diene units are replaced by styrene and the copolymer pref. contains 50-75% buta-1,3-diene, 10-35% isoprene and 5-25% styrene; or up to 30% of the buta-1,4-diene units are replaced by isoprene units with at least 60% 1,4-fraction. Block A has 10-50% vinyl gps. The block copolymer can be branched with branching agents or couplers.
