PURPOSE: An apparatus for removing swarf attached to a filter screen of a mist oil collector in a strip grinder is provided to prevent clogging of the filter screen and also a fire caused by sparks between attached swarf and an ionizer. CONSTITUTION: This apparatus comprises a filter screen (13), an auxiliary filter screen (14), a filter (16), an ionizer (17), a collector (18), and a fan (19). By operating a driving cylinder (24), the filter screen and the auxiliary filter screen move on the inside of the mist oil collector alternately in order to screen swarf-retaining oil. Before the filter screen is completely clogged up with swarf, the filter screen is displaced with the auxiliary filter screen, and displaced filter screen is transferred outside of the mist oil collector to be washed with air being injected from an air pipe (30).
