PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an abnormal cell detection method which detects a cell which has caused the drop of starting voltage, minute short circuit, or short circuit, and a cell where the internal stress has increased, separately in battery cells. SOLUTION: A battery cell system includes a plurality of blocks 10A connected in series, and each of the plural blocks 10A includes a plurality of battery cells 10B connected in series, and an abnormal battery cell detection method includes the first step S201 which detects the block voltage of each of the plural blocks 10B and the current of the battery system, the second step S202 which computes the charge and discharge power of each of the plural blocks 10B based on the block voltage and the current, the third step S203 which judges whether the absolute value of the current is at a predetermined value or over, the fourth step S205 which judges whether the charge/discharge power difference between each charge/discharge power and the next of the plural blocks, and the fifth step S206 which detects the block including an abnormal battery cell based on the judgment result of the third step and the judgment result of the forth step. |
