PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To maintain high coefficient of performance in an evaporator serial mode. SOLUTION: This heat pump device, having switching valves V1 to V3 of a refrigerant route provided at a refrigerant passage 10 for communicating with two evaporators 3, 5 in an evaporator serial mode for passing a refrigerant in series through the two evaporators 3, 5, comprises a bypass passage 9 for connecting in series the evaporators 3, 5, in a short-circuit manner in a state in which the valves V1 to V3 are detoured, and an on/off valve SV provided for opening or closing the passage 9. Alternatively, the evaporators are arranged so that the dry evaporator 3 in a refrigerant flowing direction preferentially adopted in the evaporator serial mode becomes an upstream side evaporator, and the full liquid type evaporator 5 becomes a downstream side evaporator.
