PURPOSE: An oil flow control device is provided to keep a proper temperature in the coldest season by returning oil to an oil pan instead of circulating to an oil cooler employing a cooling control valve in an automatic transmission. CONSTITUTION: An oil flow control device(20) comprises: a transmission control unit(22) for controlling a cooling control solenoid valve(24) by detecting an electrical signal of an oil temperature sensor(28); the cooling control solenoid valve for controlling the line pressure applied to a line(34) connecting an oil cooler(30) with a lockup control valve(32) via a fourth port(36) at a fifth port(38); a cooling control valve(26) selectively controlling oil flow to an oil cooler(30) or an oil pan(42). If the temperature of oil is low, the line pressure applied from the fourth port is isolated in the fifth port by turning on the cooling control solenoid valve. The cooling control valve moves to the right by a return spring, and the oil passing through the lockup control valve directly returns to the oil pan by passing through a third port(48). According to direct return of the oil, the temperature of the oil rises while the viscosity is decreased. Therefore, circulation and lubrication of the oil are enhanced and shifting quality is improved.
