PURPOSE: A method for analyzing a V 5.2 protocol message in an interchange system and a device therefor are provided to analyze contents of a V 5.2 protocol message and to output the result by tracing a user port and the protocol entity in an interchange system. In the progress of the registration, the registration to a protocol peripheral processor(12) is carried out in response to the request message of the trace registration about each PE with a user port or an AN(18) unit. In the progress of confirming the register information, all the registered objects are confirmed and the trace information of each PE is output to the terminal in case that more than one information exist. In the progress of analyzing the message, the V 5.2 protocol message is divided according to each PE and it is checked if the protocol message is normal or not and the result is supplied to the terminal.
