PURPOSE: An apparatus for selectively operating a base station in a wireless switching system is provided to operate a base station for being used by a wireless terminal's designation or a manager's designation, among many base stations, and not to operate a base station not-having a terminal within an area. Therefore, wide areas are utilized and power consumption is reduced. CONSTITUTION: A speech processing block(31) transceives a PCM(Pulse Code Modulation) speech signal with a back plane of a main device, and changes the PCM data into an ADPCM(Adaptive Differential PCM) signal. A baseband controller(33) supports a DECT(Digital Enhanced Cordless Telephone) protocol. A CPU(32) controls the baseband controller(33) to make a DECT service normally operate. The baseband controller(33) transmits a DECT control signal, a 320-bit ADPCM speech signal, and other control information to a line driver(34). The line driver(34) converts waveforms to transmit data to remote places, and transmits the converted data to a base station(20). The base station(20) modulates the data into 1.8 to 1.9GHz frequencies of a DECT system, and outputs the modulated data as RFs(Radio Frequencies). A base select module(36) is inserted between the line driver(34) and the base station(20), and operates the appropriate base station only(20), through connection/cancellation. The CPU(32) controls the base station(20) to perform an operation in accordance with an operation request and an operation suspending, by using a base selection DB loaded with presently-operated base station information. |
