The potato harvester has a clamp lifter (2) and a leaf remover (4) connected by a conveyor (3). The leaf remover contains a coarse material separator (5) which separates large leafy material, clods of earth and tufts of crouch grass from the potatoes. An auxiliary conveyor (7) beneath the separator feeds the potatoes on for further processing.
