<p>PURPOSE:To improve the operability and the stability to disturbance in straight traveling switching and actuating a damper control means for holding a steering angle of a steering wheel in straight traveling where a steering wheel steering angle and steering force are at smaller values than a predetermined value which is almost recognized as zero. CONSTITUTION:A power steering device is composed of an electric motor 3a to drive an output shaft of a steering wheel, and a control part 3b to control its drive force and its direction. In this case, a steering angle detecting means 3b for detecting a rotation angle of a steering handle, a steering force detecting means 3e for detecting its steering force, and a velocity detecting means 3f for detecting a vehicle velocity are connected to the control part 3b respectively. In the meanwhile, a changing means 4c for an assist control means 4a and a damper control means 4b are disposed inside the control part 3b. In straight traveling where the detected steering angle and the steering force are both smaller than a predetermined value which is recognized almost zero, the damper control means 4b is actuated by the switching means 4c, so that the steering angle of the steering wheel is held.</p> |
