PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid separating device having a high processing ability in terms of quantity capable of separating a machining lubricant oil from a water soluble lubricant oil without resorting to any particular chemical/electrical processing. SOLUTION: This liquid separating device is furnished with a first chamber 8 to admit storing of a mixture of two sorts of liquid different in the specific gravity and a second chamber 10 partitioned by a bulkhead 9 in the first chamber 8 and having a minor communication through a passage 8a. A third chamber 14 is provided independently. The arrangement further includes a first pump 11 to take out the upper layer liquid having small specific gravity in the second chamber 10, a second pump 13 to transfer the lower layer liquid having a larger specific gravity in the second chamber 10 to the third chamber 14, and a third pump 16 to take out the lower layer liquid having large specific gravity in the third chamber 14.
