PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently and stably obtain a high quality metal powder of narrow particle size distribution. SOLUTION: A reducing gas feeding pipe 5 is provided at the center of the top 1a of a reducing furnace 1. Plural numbers of metal chloride gas feeding pipes 6 are provided around the pipe 5. Metal chloride gas is supplied into the reducing furnace 1 in such a way that it intersects the flow of reducing gas. By this method, vapor phase chemical reaction can be uniformized and stabilized.
