PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform high accuracy lens processing and produce a finished surface in good workmanship. SOLUTION: The processing speed is made selectable according to the material of the lens to be processed, and it is made practicable to set the combination of the feeding speed (lens axis rotating speed) and tool rotating speed by selecting the lens thickness at its peripheral edge particularly from process to process, i.e., at rough processing of the lens peripheral surface, finish processing of the peripheral surface, groove carving at the peripheral surface, and chamfering of the edge part.
