PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device and a method for an improved treatment for COPD. SOLUTION: A lung constricting device includes a jacket composed of a flexible material shaped so as to constrict a lung part by covering at least a part of the lungs. A method for constricting a part of the lungs includes a step for preparing the jacket composed of the flexible material and a step for arranging the jacket composed of the flexible material around the lung part.
