PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a heat developable photosensitive material for a laser imager having high sensitivity and low fog, excellent in image sharpness and also having good raw stock preservability by incorporating a specified dye into the constituent layer or substrate of a photosensitive material and spectrally sensitizing photosensitive silver halide in the layer with a specified spectral sensitizing dye. SOLUTION: The constituent layer or substrate of the heat developable photosensitive material contains a dye of formula I and photosensitive silver halide in the layer has been spectrally sensitized with a spectral sensitizing dye of formula II, III or the like. In the formula I, X is S or O, R1 and R2 is a monovalent substituent and (m) and (n) are each 0-4. In the formulae II and III, Y1, Y2 and Y11 are each O, S or the like, L1-L9 and L11-L15 are each methine, R1, R2, R11 and R12 are each an aliphatic group, R3, R4, R13 and R14 are each lower alkyl or the like, W1-W4 and W11-W14 are each H, a substituent or the like, X1 and X11 are each an ion required for balancing an electric charge in each molecule, ml is 0 or 1 and n1, n2, n11 and n12 is 0-2.
