PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a disk apparatus whose read time can be shortened by a method, where a read-after-write function is added, rewrite of data with generated errors can be made and a pair of optical heads can be used. SOLUTION: A first optical head 22 and a second optical head 23, which are arranged so as to be situated substantially at concentric with reference to the disk face of a disk 10, are provided. A sliding mechanism, which uses a feed screws 27 and 37 which are used to move the first and second optical heads in the radial direction of the disk, is provided. This disk apparatus is constituted, in such a way that when the first optical head advances to the inner circumference of the disk, also the second optical head advances to the inner circumference of the disk. Data, which are written by the first optical head, is read out immediately by the second optical head. When errors are generated in the read-out data, data which are identical to that which is reproduced is written by the first optical head (a read-after-write function). When the read-after-write function is added, the error verification time of the data can be shortened, even if the disk is a CD-R.
