PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the sticking of a lot of developer to a photoreceptor by quickly detecting abnormality at a pre-running time when paper-feeding is not performed, to improve the reliability of pre-running operation by preventing the soiling of a peripheral device and the inside of a copying machine main body or preventing the damage of a cleaning blade and the photoreceptor by carrier, and also to surely execute the initialization of an automatic toner sensor. SOLUTION: A reflectivity sensor 18 to detect the reflectivity of the surface of the photoreceptor 11 is provided before the cleaning device 20 of a cleaner unit 27. In the case of detecting that the reflectivity of the surface of the photo- receptor 11 is out of the range of a specified value by a reflectivity sensor18 because the developer of the large quantity is stuck to the surface of the photoreceptor 11 by the abnormality at the pre-running time at which the photo- receptor 11 and a developing unit 14 are driven without paper-feeding, the photoreceptor 11 and the developing unit 14 are immediately stopped and a warning is given, so that the further sticking of the developer is prevented. |
