Use of substituted 1,8-naphthyridine derivatives for treatment of Helicobacter pylori infection and gastric or duodenal ulcers

The current specification discloses the use of compounds of formula depicted wherein R1 is either H or CH3 and R2 is either H or L-alanine-L-alanyl to treat Halicobacter pylori infections and gastric or duodenal ulcers. The compounds may be optionally combined with metronidazole or a second microbial agent such as amoxicillin, tetracycline or omeprazole.
