Vibratory screen apparatus for solid liquid filtration, especially for sludge dewatering, uses slanting or vertical screen wall

A slanting or vertical screen wall (2, 3) is vibrated at an amplitude in the transport direction of the solid/liquid mixture along the wall, from the top to the bottom. An apparatus for removing a liquid from a solid/liquid mixture contains a liquid-permeable screen wall, over which the mixture is made to flow at relatively high pressure, and which is connected to a vibrating mechanism (15). The screen wall is slanting or vertical, with the mixture being delivered to the top of the wall and the mainly solid residue being removed from the bottom of the wall. The vibration amplitude is essentially oriented in the transport direction of the mixture along the wall.
