PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a yellow ink composition capable of realizing yellow images excellent in wide-ranging color reproducibility and light resistance by using a coloring agent containing a pair of specific yellow pigments. SOLUTION: This yellow ink composition is obtained by compounding (A) a coloring agent containing (i) C.I. pigment yellow 128 and (ii) C.I. pigment yellow 110, and optionally (B) water, (C) a water-soluble organic solvent and the like. The weight ratio of the component i to the component ii in the ink composition is preferably (1-0.1):(0.1-1). The amount of addition of the components i and ii is preferably about 1-5 wt.%, more preferably 1.5-4 wt.%. Into the ink composition, (D) a dispersant, (E) a penetrant and the like may be added at need. The component D is preferably styrene-methacrylic acid based water-soluble resin or the like. A preferable example of the component E is a lower alkyl ether of a polyhydric alcohol, ethylene glycol or the like. |
