PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce cost with simple constitution, decrease a mounting space, and enhance practicability. SOLUTION: In this misfire detection device, when a high voltage which is outputted from ignition coils 14A and 14B is respectively applied between a center electrode 21A and a side electrode 22A of an ignition coil 20A and between a center electrode 21B and a side electrode 22B of an ignition coil 20B thereby generating high voltage discharge, and air-fuel mixture inside a plurality of cylinders is ignited and burnt, ion current based on the voltage for ion current detection applied between the electrodes 21A and 22A and between the electrodes 21B and 22B is detected utilizing rectification of flame thereby detecting misfire. In this device, ground sides of secondary coils 17A and 17B constituting the ignition coils 14A and 14B, respectively are connected in parallel to a secondary coil 28 of one oscillation transformer 25 applying ion current detection voltage.
