PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable the miniaturization of an apparatus and to curtail the length of time for treating sheets. SOLUTION: An apparatus 1 for treating sheets has a scanner 4 for reading the images of the sheets P, a recognition part 14 for recognizing the positions and kinds of objects to be detected attached to the sheets P based on read image data, a reversal part 6 for reversing the sheets P selectively, a stamping part 8 for stamping the objects of the sheets P selectively, and a division/ collection part 12 for dividing/collecting the sheets P corresponding to the kinds of the objects. In the recognition part 14, before the sheets P which passed through the scanner 4 reach the first gate 21 of the reversal part 6, the positions of the objects of the sheets P are recognized by using a part of the image data. In a control part 16, the recognition results are received, the first gate 21 is changed over, and the sheets P are reversed selectively. |
