PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an operating method of sewage treating equipment capable of preventing the flowing-out of sludge out of a system before a maintenance manager reaches a treatment plant by controlling to automatically work a sludge over-flow preventing system when a water level reaches the warning level of the high water level. SOLUTION: In the operating method of the sewage treating equipment constituted of a sewage receiving tank 1, an aeration tank 2 and a final settling tank 3 and the incidental equipments such as an aerator 21, a sludge scraper 31 and a returned sludge pump 32 and for treating the sewage such as domestic waste water, the over flow of the sludge out of facility is prevented by automatically stopping one kind or plural equipments of the aerator 21, the sludge scraper 31 and the returned sludge pump 32 when the water level of the facility reaches the set warning level of the high water level.
