PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make the recessed circular arc supporting surface of a supporting member hold a sheet to be scanned such as a stimulable phosphor sheet without making it partially float up in the holding device of the sheet to be scanned. SOLUTION: A sheet 10 carried in the peripheral direction of a circular arc along a circular arc supporting surface 23a by carrying rollers 21 and 22 is successively sucked from respective intake holes 23c and 23d by a suction pump 29 so as to make in order from the intake hole 23c formed on a side near the top end pat 10a of the sheet 10 in a carrying direction to the intake hole 23d formed on the side near a rear end part 10b in the carrying direction.
