PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thin-plate storing container capable of being used suitably in an automatic and complicated treatment process, along with a readable identification mark wrote surely on a black or another colored face. SOLUTION: A thin-plate storing container functions as a wafer carrier 1 or a wafer carrier box 2 for storing and carrying a plurality of wafers and holding or treating the wafers. Data codes 12 and 14 with X-Y dimensional date patterns for keeping treatment history and supervising are written directly on an outer wall of the container by suing laser. The data code may be wrote on a small board and the board may be stuck or mounted on the wafer carrier 1. In addition, the small board may be covered with an optically visible cover before the mounting or the small board in an optically visible state from the outer face may be integral in form with the wafer carrier 1.
