OPTICAL DISK BAR CODE DATA RECORDING METHOD AND OPTICAL DISK INITIALIZING DEVICE USING THE SAME RECORDING MEDIUM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable an optical disk initializing device to also serve as a BCA (burst cutting area) code recording device. SOLUTION: In this device, an optical head 8 initializes the recording film of an optical disk 1 by irradiating the surface of the disk with a laser spot having a shape extending over a plurality of tracks, a modulation clock modulates serial data from a data converting part 15 by using a modulation clock and an optical head output control part 13 drives the head 8 with pulses while detecting the rotational angle of the disk according to a signal from the part 17. Thus, the device records bar bode shaped data whose recording length is made variable in the radial direction on the surface of the optical disk 1.
