PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To construct a download system capable of updating a program without hindering operation even when much time such as several days is required for downloading a program file at the time of updating a program. SOLUTION: After the lapse of a schedule stored in a version updating tool 22 built in a terminal 20, the tool 22 establishes communication by calling a server 10 and then executes log-in and a version check part 24 extracts the version of a program from a version table storage part 12 of the server 10 through a network, and when the version of the server is newer than the version of a program corresponding to the terminal 20, informs a downloading part 25, which executes the download of a program file from the server 10. The downloaded program is temporarily stored in a disk without being immediately reflected on the terminal 20.
