PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a stereoscopic display device and a stereoscopic display method by which the quality of a stereoscopic picture can be always kept well by automatically adjusting a delay time even though the response speed of a liquid crystal shutter is changed in accordance with the change of operation environment such as an ambient temperature. SOLUTION: As to this stereoscopic display device which has a picture display means 10 alternately displaying the picture for a right eye and the picture for a left eye, a pair of spectacles 12 provided with liquid crystal shutters 11L and 11R, and driving means 13 to 17L and 17R driving the shutters 11L and 11R, and by which a user can view the stereoscopic picture by viewing the picture displayed on the means 10 through the shutters 11L and 11R; this device is also provided with a response speed change detecting means 21 detecting the change of the response speed of the shutters 11L and 11R and an operating timing adjusting means 23 adjusting the operating timing of the shutters 11L and 11R based on the detection result of the means 21. |
