PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a spent fuel storage rack with high neutron absorption capacity by eliminating the welded part of a stripe-shaped frame plate that is a component and hence drastically reducing manufacturing time. SOLUTION: A spent fuel storage rack 11 is installed at a pool for storing the fuel of nuclear power facilities and is provided with a lattice-shaped cell 13 for dividing and accommodating a plurality of fuel assemblies 12 in a column arrangement of a plurality of columns and rows, the lattice-shaped cell is formed by an outer frame plate 16 that is arranged at the outermost periphery of the rack, a plurality of strip-shaped frame plates 14, where a space that has a side width being nearly equivalent to the one-piece width of the fuel assembly and length being nearly equivalent to the effective length of the fuel, these strip-shaped frame plates assembly and a space being surrounded by the outer frame plate and outer frame plates of columns and rows for arrangement, and supports 15 which fit and retain strip-shaped frame plates and has a lattice plate for supporting the horizontal load of the fuel assembly at the upper portion of the fuel storage cell 13, and at the same time, a base plate for supporting the vertical load of the fuel assembly is provided at the lower portion of the fuel storage cell.
