PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a peripheral equipment connection device capable of automatically restoring communication between a host and peripheral equipment without requesting an operator to restart a system or connect/disconnect a cable. SOLUTION: A change-over switch 6 is connected to a D line of the peripheral equipment side and controlled by a control part 5a formed in a USB controller 5. When poling from the host 2 can not be detected, the peripheral equipment 1 temporarily opens the circuit of the switch 6, sets up the potential of a point P of the host 2 to almost the same potential as that of a ground line G and closes the circuit again so as to change the potential of the point P to a level close to power supply voltage. Consequently the host 2 recognizes the reconnection of the peripheral equipment 1 and restarts poling.
