The present invention relates to an atmospheric discharge protection arrangement in an antenna (10) arranged in communication with a hull of an aircraft (11), said antenna comprising a housing, consisting of at least a first side (14), a second side (15), a third side (16a) and a fourth side (16b), at least one of said third and fourth sides being at least transparent for electromagnetic waves. The protection arrangement is an internal protection arrangement comprising said first side (14) electrically coupled to said second side (15) through at least one antenna element (24), said first and second sides consisting of a conductive material, and that said second side being connected to hull of said aircraft (11).
