The measuring method uses an elongate measuring body (3), with a length of at least 5 times its width, positioned with its longitudinal axis (4) transverse to the pipeline flow, with measurement of the force exerted on the measuring body by the flow medium at one or both of the mountings fixing the measuring body in the pipeline (2). An Independent claim for a pipeline flow measuring device is also included.
