The sheet guide device (15) has a counterpressure cylinder (7) and another cylinder (9), which may be an application cylinder for ink or lacquer, or a tool cylinder for finishing a sheet (8), in either case with the sheet lying on the counterpressure cylinder. A sheet guide element (14) is fitted separately from this second cylinder, covering the counterpressure zone (19) of the counterpressure cylinder.
