The motor vehicle has a hybrid drive (2) consisting of an internal combustion engine (3) and an electric motor (4) operated as a generator in braking mode for storing electrical energy in an energy storage device (5) and for use in driving the vehicle in drive mode. A regulating and control unit (8) generates control signals for co-ordinating the functions of the internal combustion engine and motor depending on signals representing the current driving state. The vehicle contains an event detector (7) for generating signals identifying an event existing or occurring outside the vehicle, e.g. a traffic situation, and the control signal affecting the engine and/or motor can be generated depending on the event signal. An Independent claim is also included for a method of operating a vehicle with a hybrid drive. |
