The arrangement has a flow cuvette, which is arranged in an inclined position with respect to the focus plane (confocale Focusebene) of the imaging system, so that the movement of the particle suspension flow brings the particles to be imaged automatically into different focal positions. Preferably, the particles are imaged by flash lighting during the recording phase of the image detector, and synchronously but delayed from the read-out phase.
