PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inexpensive frame material and a manufacturing method by effectively utilizing the end material (waste) of the thin plate material to which a decorative sheet is stuck generated for a large amount in a door manufacturing plant and the furniture plant. SOLUTION: This frame material is composed of a wood core material 11 provided with an attaching surface 11a and plural corner parts, a thin plate end material 12 for which the decorative sheet is stuck on a surface, plural bend grooves 12c-12g perforated at the thin plate end material corresponding to the corner parts of the wood core material, a thin part 12a whose plate thickness is almost 1/2 of the thin plate end material formed at least at one end of the thin plate end material and one or more shallow grooves 12b formed at the thin part. A fold-back part is formed by folding back and adhering the thin part 12a at the shallow groove 12b, the bend groove of the thin plate end material is bent and adhered to the remaining surfaces excluding the attaching surface 11a of the wood core material 11 and the fold-back part is projected from the end part of the attaching surface 11a of the wood core material as a flange part 14.
