PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simplify the maintenance by moving a coil spring rotated on a rotary roller by a cage with wheel moved along the rotary roller. SOLUTION: Bottoms of plural spring conveyors 23, 23 of a spring supplying device 3 are successively opened for intermittently supplying crosswise coil springs W into cages with wheels on three rotary rollers. In accompany with this, the supplied coil springs W are passed in a cabinet 1 while pressed by the cages with wheels coming thereafter, rotated in a vertical surface by the rotation of three rotary rollers during the passing in the cabinet 1, and further ground/polished/cleaned by receiving the shot from shot centrifugal projecting devices 30, 30. On the other hand, the cages with wheels transferred to a right end of a machine are lowered to the positions of rails 25, 24 by a cage lowering mechanism 26 of a cage returning device 10, and successively transferred to left by cylinders 29, 29.
