PURPOSE: A cosmetic composition containing Perillae Folium is prepared for use as sunblock, which is excellent in scavenging free radicals, absorbing ultraviolet ray without allergy. CONSTITUTION: In the cosmetic composition, Perillae Folium is extracted from Perilla Frutescens Britton var. crispa Decne., and 0.001-10 wt.% of Perillae Folium extract is incorporated into cosmetic composition. Perillae Folium is extracted by using one solvent selected from the group consisting of water, methanol, ethanol, acetone, ethyl acetate, 1,3-buthylene glycol, hexane, diethyl ether, normal propanol. iso-propanol, and normal butanol.
