Dosing device comprises two pumps (10, 16) each with suction and outlet connections (12, 14;18, 20). The suction connection (12) of the first pump and the outlet (20) of the second are connected to a dosing pipette (28), while the suction (18) of the second pump and the outlet (14) of the first are connected to a reservoir (34). A controller (36) controls fluid dosing via the pipette (28). The controller ensures that fluid sucked by the first pump and expelled by the second pump is passed to the dosing pipette. The two pumps cancel each other out in terms of fluid quantity moved.
