PURPOSE: A door access control method and system is provided to integrate a video phone with a face recognizer and a finger print recognizer, and more intelligently extract bio-metric characteristics of a visitor outside a door so that it can control a door access efficiently. CONSTITUTION: The method comprises an external module(10) and an internal module(20). The external module(10) includes a face recognizer(14), a finger print recognizer(16), a voice input and output device(11,12), and a door lock(18A). The face recognizer(14) processes image signals of a visitor's face captured by a camera lens. The finger print recognizer(16) recognizes finger print sensing signals of a visitor by an electronic and an optical sensor. The door lock(18A) automatically closes or opens the door according to a door drive signals. The internal module(20) includes an LCD with a touch panel(27), an image input device(22), a face image storage device(28A), and a finger print storage device(28B). The touch panel LCD(27) enables a user to push a key function. The image input device(22) enables the user to register face images for visitors allowed to freely pass the door access.
