The system has an apron (2) with metallic blade of thickness between 0.5 to 2.5 cm, where the blades are articulated with each other to permit the rolling and unrolling of an apron to uncover and cover the pit, respectively. A rolling device with a drum (3) and a traction device is connected to the apron, where the rolling device has dimensions compatible to its installation under an access stairway (11) of the pit. Two gear motors (41, 91) rotatably drive the drum and winders (8) by chains and/or belts (42, 92) for rolling and unrolling the apron.
